Fresh Flour Company

Andrew Gilhespy, an artisan food producer based in South Devon approached me to develop his brand & packaging for his business, the Fresh Flour Company.

Andrew began growing a few acres of Einkorn and Emmer wheat, milling by hand. The flour sold by word of mouth, and repeat orders soon had the mill grinding around the clock – all without a single advertisement. He then decided to try and make pasta that matched the quality of the flour. When he cracked the process of producing bronze-cut, air-dried pasta, he knew he had a product to rival his favourite Italian brands.

With orders for pasta already rolling in, including an approach by Fortnum and Mason, suppliers big and small have been fighting to stock the brand.

Aquaculture Stewardship Council

The ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) asked me to design their first ever Monitoring and Evaluation Report. They wanted something really visual and engaging, including lots of data visualisation and info graphic design. Its been received very well and is set to become an annual publication.

“Simon has been wonderful to work with. He’s been able to create a variety of great materials for us, and to do so quickly. Simon is also able to work well with those members of our teams that don’t speak the language of design, making the process that much easier and the resulting work even more impressive.”

Alcohol Branding Design

Devon based start up, Devon Rum Company asked me to design them branding & packaging for their Artisan Rum. As well as tasting great, ingredients are sourced ethically and all packaging is 100% recyclable.

“Simon was great to work with. We clicked straight away and he understood what we were trying to achieve with the brand and product. He came up with a selection of great ideas and we then worked up the preferred choices. Great communication throughout and we are really pleased with the results. Thanks!”
